BAE Systems is seeking a Quality Engineering Assistant (QEA) to support programs in the value streams within the CAS Business Area. The QAE will support the manufacturing floor with quality issues, react to key program metrics, participate in root cause and corrective action (RCCA) investigations, drive corrective actions, and foster continuous improvements.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Protect BAE from shipping nonconforming material
Facilitate RCCA with Corrective and Preventative Actions
Hardware Dispositions
Operator Feedback
FAI (First Article Inspection)
Inspections
Part issue investigation/ Coordination with SQE (Supplier Quality Engineering)
Data Trending
Action tracking and closure
Audit support
Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High School Diploma or equivlanet
1-2 years of work experience
A passion for process improvement
Well-organized
Strong communicator capable of working through complex issues with peers, management and multiple functions
Manufacturing experience
Ability to mine data and visually display
Technical mindset
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Mechanical background with an understanding of electrical components and Circuit Card Assemblies.
Experience with Oracle systems, FLX factory Logix, PowerBI and/or Apex is a plus.
Experience with control and disposition of non-conforming Material.
Familiarity with IPC J-STD-001 Standard Soldering Requirements.
Experience with use of inspection gages and measuring equipment.
Experience with root cause corrective action investigations.
Experience with metric trending.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $43285 - $69256
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
