System One Electrical Assembler in Elmira Heights, New York

Job Title: Electrical Assembler

Location: Elmira Heights, NY

Type: Direct Hire

Compensation: $20 - $23 per hour

Contractor Work Model: Onsite

OVERVIEW:

Employee performs highly skilled maintenance, installation, repair and troubleshooting work involved with electrical system. Electrical work may be performed in a number of areas of the car shell/train. Work involves technical application of electrical principles.

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION:

  • Must have vast knowledge with electrical hand tools, crimpers, and crimping dies.

  • Installs, repairs and services specialized electrical equipment on the train.

  • Reads and understands wiring process books and control sheets.

  • Wire routing, wire harness building, and terminate a wide range of connectors.

  • May do other trades work incidental to electrical work.

  • Capable of process improvement.

  • Collaborate with management any issues that may arise with project.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager

    TRAINING/EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or graduation from a certified technical school.

  • Minimum 6 months experience as an Electrical assembler

    INITIAL TRAINING:

  • Quality system

  • Occupational Hazards Prevention System

  • Railway Safety Management System

  • Human Resources Policies

  • Environmental Systems

    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two or more years of related experience.

    SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Shall report all injuries/illnesses to their supervisor that occur at work, the day of the incident

  • Shall report any unsafe conditions that are identified in their respective work area to their supervisor

  • Shall comply with all client safety policies, procedures, and requirements that are communicated to them, including Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures

  • Shall wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that is communicated and supplied to them

  • Shall keep their respective work area clean and orderly at all times

  • Shall attend all client required training as soon as possible before the start of their assigned work

  • Shall NOT operate any client equipment (forklifts, cranes, scissor lifts) until certified to do so
