International Health and Safety Senior Engineer in Elmendorf, Texas
Position Overview
International Motors has a great opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Senior Engineer at our Advanced Technology Center located just south of San Antonio, in Elmendorf, Texas.
This hands-on role will be responsible for the EHS operations for the site.
The chosen individual will develop, plan, and implement EHS policies. The intent of this role is to effectively integrate EHS programs site wide while maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, and standards, as well as corporate level EHS policies and requirements
Responsibilities
Support the development, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of site safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate requirements.
Conduct routine and specialized safety inspections, audits, and assessments of facilities, equipment, and work practices; document findings and track corrective actions to closure.
Perform EHS hazard identification, risk assessments, and mitigation activities for new and existing equipment, processes, and projects.
Lead or support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action development; maintain accurate records within designated safety management systems.
Assist in maintaining compliance with OSHA regulations and applicable safety standards; identify gaps and recommend corrective measures.
Support emergency response planning and execution, including drills, coordination with site Emergency Response Teams, and emergency procedure updates.
Support development and delivery of safety/environmental training and awareness programs, including new employee orientation, task-specific training, and recurring compliance training.
Maintain safety and environmental training and inspection records to ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
Assist with data collection, maintenance, and reporting of safety/environmental performance metrics (e.g., incidents, inspections, audits, corrective actions).
Participate in safety committees, audits, and EHS-related projects as assigned.
Work with and monitor deliverables from 3rd party ESH service provider(s).

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of environmental health, fire safety or safety experience
OR
- Master's degree and no experience
OR
- At least 3 years of environmental health, fire safety or safety experience
Additional Requirements

Desired Skills
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and other applicable safety and health standards.
Working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
Experience conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Experience supporting emergency response planning, hazardous material handling, and workplace safety programs.
Ability to identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and support implementation with cross-functional teams.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to document and present findings.
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) and experience using databases or incident tracking systems.
Ability to work independently on assigned projects while collaborating cross functionally.
Manufacturing or automotive operations experience preferred.
Familiarity with ISO-based management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001) a plus.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.

Salary Minimum: USD $72,000.00/Yr.
Salary Maximum: USD $108,000.00/Yr.
