CBRE Construction Project Manager-Life Sciences Facilities in Elkton, Virginia
About the Role
The Construction Project Manager manages small to medium-sizedconstruction projects for our life science client in Elkton, VA with direct accountabilityfor project delivery.
This job is part of the Construction Management function responsiblefor ensuring all deliverables of construction projects are completed on timeand within budget.
Role requires onsite presence in Elkton, VA 5 days/week withoccasional weekend work.
What You’ll Do
Conduct daily facility walks to monitor the progress of constructionprojects. Review the status of work completed during the period covered and confirmwork is aligned with the approved drawings and specifications.
Review all documentation submitted by contract vendors includingcontractors’ subcontracts, submittals, and safety documentation
Prepare Project Status and Construction Risk Assessment report.Seek approval for the release of construction funds.
Review contract drawings, specifications, and opine for completenessand general compliance with best practices.
Work directly with project managers, architects, engineers,and MEP contractors.
Make relevant comments on the terms of construction agreements.This includes subcontracts, architectural, engineering design, and building loanagreements. Ensure the Contractor and Architect’s qualification statements areup to date.
Oversee construction and disbursement schedules andcommunicate project progress to project manager daily.
Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/proceduresto accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job disciplineand broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent withCBRE RISE (Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence) values. Work to build consensusand convince others to reach an agreement.
Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or serviceactivities within own team and other related teams.
Work within broad guidelines and policies while explaining difficultor sensitive information
Compose and organize dailylogs and necessary documentation for management and client review.
What You’ll Need
Applicants must be currentlyauthorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorshipnow or in the future.
Bachelor'sDegree preferred with 5-8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combinationof experience and education will be considered.
Fieldconstruction and vendor management experience
Manufacturingand/or multi-use facility construction project experience
Abilityto exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
In-depthknowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with projectmanagement software
Organizationalskills with an advanced inquisitive mentality.
Advancedcommunication and problem-solving skills.

What You’ll Need:
High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Universal CFC certification is preferred. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions. Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.
Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the this position is $50,000 annually and the maximum salary for this position is $62,500 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
