SUMMARY:
The
Line Cook
performs a variety of restaurant/kitchen related tasks including food preparation, product stocking and rotation, food prep, and basic cleaning duties.
Works between both Maverick Casino and Hotel and Gold Country Inn and Casino.
MINIMUM/PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous prep or line cook experience preferred.
- Knowledge of cooking procedures and kitchen equipment.
- Knowledge of safety rules for kitchen equipment.
- Maintain safety in a high-pace and hot environment.
- Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize and organize, uses time efficiently.
- Actively promote and personally observe safety and security procedures, and use equipment and materials properly.
- Ability to read and satisfactorily communicate in English with co-workers and management to their understanding.
- Stay self-motivated in work environment.
- Ability to prepare food according to food handler's guidelines.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Stock supplies, products and utensils throughout the kitchen and general cleaning of the kitchen and stock areas.
- Sets up station according to restaurant guidelines.
- Prepare all food items as directed, in a sanitary and timely manner.
- Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by Kitchen Manager.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- This position typically works varied shifts, including weekend and holidays.
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
