Job Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Mining Equipment)
Schedule: 12-hour shifts
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team, responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of mining mobile equipment. This role requires strong diagnostic skills, mechanical expertise, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. Candidates must be comfortable working extended 12-hour shifts and rotating between day and night schedules if needed.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy mining equipment including:
Excavators
Dozers
Haul trucks (40-ton to 100-ton)
Water trucks
Motor graders
Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues efficiently
Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and servicing
Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes
Ensure all repairs meet safety and operational standards
Maintain accurate service records and documentation
Work collaboratively with operators and other maintenance personnel
Adhere to all company safety policies and MSHA regulations
Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic (mining or construction)
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
Experience working on large haul trucks and earthmoving equipment preferred
Ability to diagnose and repair equipment with minimal supervision
Must be willing to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed
Valid driver's license required
