Production Worker
Job Description
Operate and monitor production processes including mixing, extrusion, polishing, and finishing. Responsibilities include measuring and loading ingredients (up to 50 lbs.), running equipment, transferring batches, and ensuring product quality meets specifications.
Responsibilities
Read and follow manufacturing order instructions to gather, measure, weigh, and document ingredients.
Load ingredients, potentially weighing up to 50 lbs., into a mixer and blend them according to time specifications.
Unload mixer and transfer mixed batch to the next process.
Process mixing batches through extrusion equipment to make the finished product.
Conduct product sensory to ensure finished products match customer specifications throughout the extrusion process.
Manage and transfer finished products from extrusion and drying processes.
Use panning process to put the finishing touch on products by loading them from drums, carts, or trays into polishing pans and adding liquid ingredients manually or through automation.
Manage the transfer of finished products using drums, carts, or trays to the next process.
Essential Skills
1+ year of recent manufacturing experience in production.
Experience with mixing, extrusion, batching, polishing, and finishing preferred (training provided if needed).
Proficiency with hand tools such as RF scanners, hand trucks, and sifting screeners.
Ability to lift/move up to 50-60 lbs. with or without accommodation.
Strong English and math skills; ability to read/write and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, manuals, and shipping documents.
Willingness to work overtime and occasional Saturdays.
Reliability, flexibility, and ability to work as a team player.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
