Job Title: Batch Operator
Job Description
This role involves working on the production floor, primarily focusing on weighing and preparing batches for shipment. The position requires the ability to handle drums weighing up to 500 lbs, ensuring they are properly palletized and wrapped for transport. Attention to detail is crucial as the operator will oversee the filling of 2-3 batches per day, with responsibility for preventing spills and inaccuracies during the process. Once filled, batches are sent to Quality Control for testing. Additionally, cleaning drums and mixers using various solutions is part of the role. Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills through cross-training are essential.
Responsibilities
Work safely in a production environment in close proximity to others.
Fill containers according to instructions outlined in ISO documents.
Complete all necessary paperwork on batch tickets.
Operate equipment including mixers, pumps with filters, forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual drum moving tools.
Clean equipment such as mixers, pumps, and tanks using solvent blends.
Transfer hazardous wastes to the satellite hazardous waste area as required.
Follow batch making instructions to manufacture batches in portable tanks and report any issues to the supervisor.
Efficiently select and identify materials for batches produced in portable tanks.
Perform multitasking efficiently to produce finished products while managing multiple mills and processes.
Safely manufacture pastes and other dispersions using HSD mixers within the mill room.
Drop bags of powder per batch making requirements.
Essential Skills
Experience in machine operation and production.
Ability to read and write in English.
Positive and coachable attitude.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Forklift experience.
Troubleshooting skills.
General labor and machine operation experience.
Experience with inks or paints is a plus.
Batch mixing expertise.

Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
