Job Title: Mixer Operator

Location: Elk Grove, CA

Shifts: 2nd / 3rd

Pay: $22.66/hr - $24.66/hr

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Mixer Operator responsible for ensuring all mixes and grinds meet quality and yield standards, aligned with the production schedule. The role involves preparing batches as per specified guidelines and maintaining accurate reporting and documentation of the mixing process through the company’s ERP system.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks according to Safety and Food Safety Standards.

  • Participate in safety training programs and contribute to safety initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as SQF, GMP, HACCP, and OSHA.

  • Report equipment malfunctions and ensure the effectiveness of the preventive maintenance program.

  • Follow and comply with all SQF requirements and maintain workstations per SQF guidelines.

  • Prepare batches using appropriate recipes and verify all ingredients prior to mixing.

  • Coordinate with machine operators to ensure correct dough consistency.

  • Monitor temperature, pressure, appearance, and physical changes during the process.

  • Maintain communication with machine operators and coordinate lunches and breaks.

  • Proactively troubleshoot and resolve problems, maintaining equipment in top operating condition.

  • Organize and maintain the mixing room to be audit-ready.

  • Prepare and verify quality standards for grinding corn and masa.

  • Enter information on the TGI system and complete changes of preservative tanks.

  • Guarantee all mixes follow required quality standards and verify ingredients follow the FIFO program.

Essential Skills

  • Grade School level; High School Diploma/GED a plus.

  • 1-2 years’ experience operating or working with food manufacturing machinery equipment or similar experience.

  • 1-2 years’ experience following work task specifications, SOP’s, recipes, etc.

  • Proficient communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Basic math skills and proper use of a calculator.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to perform work while standing during prolonged periods.

  • Self-motivated; able to initiate action to correct deficiencies.

  • Team player with reliable and punctual attendance.

  • Schedule flexibility including working weekends, holidays, and off-shifts.

Work Environment

The work environment involves continual walking and standing on hard surfaces, climbing, descending steps, and exposure to rotating and reciprocating parts. It requires driving industrial equipment and being exposed to varying temperatures and noise. The role demands standing for long periods, with physical activities including bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping, reaching, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.66 - $24.66/hr.
