Ralliant Senior Quality Engineer in Elizabethtown, North Carolina

The Sr. Quality Engineer reports to the site Quality Manager and is responsible for internal and external quality in the assigned area of responsibility (cells, value streams). Focuses on quality of internal products, but also supports new product development projects through ownership of project tasks relevant for quality, and management of the project up to series release. Organizes and executes internal process and product audits and drives resulting actions to continuously improve product quality and quality management standards. Tracks and manages supplier quality. The ideal candidate must work out of the Elizabethtown, NC office.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead quality assurance initiatives, define QA strategies, and establish testing methodologies to ensure high-quality deliverables
Provide guidance and mentorship to Quality Engineers, fostering a culture of quality within the team
Generation and reporting of quality KPIs (both internal and external)
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, development, and operations, to align quality objectives and ensure a shared understanding of requirements
Planning and execution of internal process and product audits
Defining actions or countermeasures arising from such internal audits, and ensuring their timely implementation
Management and execution of external audits as needed
Participation in project teams as needed, specifically to represent quality management interests
Developing and maintaining quality plan for existing and new products, in collaboration with operations team and/or project teams
Participating in the creation of qualification test matrices in preparation of product launches
Leading or participating in pilot runs, follow up of resulting action lists
Product releases / serial releases (including PAPP if requested by relevant customers)
Leading and coordinating efforts to address quality problems (e.g. customer call-backs, customer or supplier reclamations, significant production issues)
Planning and executing in-process quality control tests, align resulting actions with operations leadership, follow up actions
Validation and approval of supplier FAIs
Diagnosis of customer reclamations, definition of countermeasures, handling of relevant communication and reporting in the appropriate or required formats (e.g. 8D)
Validation and maintenance of testing equipment, in collaboration with Industrial Engineering team
Supervise Quality Technicians, manage associate hours, performance, and development
Assist Supply Chain in developing and executing processes to both effectively qualify new and exit risky suppliers
Assist in developing DFMEA and PFMEA for manufacturing processes and new products.
Provide Quality leadership to the manufacturing team to ensure customer and quality expectations are met
Develop APQP, ISIR, in support of manufacturing
Assist in the completion and closure of product non-conformance reports
Provide documentation of root cause and corrective actions for customer complaints involving supplier non conformances
Qualifications
Education Requirement:
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in a Technical discipline; Engineering discipline from a four-year University preferred
Required Experience:
6+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Advanced complex problem-solving capability and experience
Experience in managing technical personnel and complex activities
Desired Experience:
6-10 yrs. relevant Quality Engineering (or closely related) experience
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and processes
Demonstrated ability to simplify complex information and prepare executive summaries
Proven ability to prioritize and communicate workload
Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
Lean Manufacturing experience required

Pay Range
The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 83,400.00 - 155,000.00
