American Township Roadcrew Technician/Cemetery Maintenance Worker in Elida, Ohio
American Township is seeking a dependable Roadcrew Technician / Cemetery Maintenance Worker to support roadway maintenance, drainage infrastructure projects, and cemetery grounds upkeep. This position involves operating heavy equipment, performing construction and maintenance work, and assisting with seasonal operations. The ideal candidate will have experience operating construction equipment and performing general maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate equipment such as backhoes, excavators, and dump trucks for roadway and drainage maintenance projects
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of roadway ditches and drainage infrastructure
- Perform concrete and asphalt finishing work related to roadway repairs and infrastructure improvements
- Conduct cemetery grounds maintenance, including mowing and trimming using zero-turn mowers and weed trimmers
- Perform basic maintenance and repairs on trucks, heavy equipment, and small engines
- Assist with winter maintenance and other seasonal duties as required
- Support township operations with general labor and maintenance tasks
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Ohio Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience operating backhoes, excavators, dump trucks, and similar construction equipment
- Previous experience with concrete and asphalt finishing
- Experience operating zero-turn mowers and landscaping equipment
- Mechanical knowledge with ability to perform basic maintenance on trucks, heavy equipment, and small engines
Schedule:
- Monday -- Friday
- 7:00 AM -- 3:30 PM
- Occasional weekend work required, particularly for cemetery operations and during the winter season
