Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of others? Do you have exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills? We have an exciting full-time opportunity for a dedicated Volunteer Services Coordinator to join our team at Marklund and help us grow our volunteer program in the Elgin area. This position will be Monday-Friday 8a-4p with a salary range of $46,000 - $53,300 based on qualifications and experience.
Who We Are:
Marklund is a nonprofit organization that provides residential, educational and therapy services to infants, children, teens and adults with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs. With two residential locations – the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva and the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin, it is currently home to nearly 178 residents. The Marklund Day School offers Multi-Needs and Life Skills programs for children and young adults with multiple medical needs, and those diagnosed on the autism spectrum. In addition, our Community Day Services program at each site is a therapeutic day program for adults who reside at Marklund and those who come in from the community.

Responsibilities Include:
Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to ensure a diverse and dedicated team.
Take part in outreach opportunities to promote volunteer program in the community.
Develop and implement volunteer opportunities that align with the needs and goals of our residents and students.
Match volunteers with appropriate assignments based on their skills, interests and availability.
Provide orientation and ongoing support to volunteers, ensuring they have the necessary resources and guidance.
Develop relationships with staff and collaborate with them to identify areas where volunteers can make a positive impact and contribute to our residents' and students' well-being.
Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours, activities, and feedback.
Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of volunteer programs, making recommendations for improvements.

Required Experience:
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Previous experience in volunteer coordination or a related field is preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate volunteers.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities to juggle multiple tasks and priorities.
Empathy, patience, and a compassionate nature when working with residents, volunteers, and staff.
Proficient in using technology and software for record-keeping and communication purposes.
A genuine passion for supporting others and a commitment to our organization's mission.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals.
