Job Title: Electronics Material Handler I – Reach Truck Forklift Operator (Bilingual – Spanish)
Location: Elgin, IL
Schedule: First Shift – Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $19.00/hour (starting)
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
Position Summary
The Electronics Material Handler I – Reach Truck Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating powered industrial trucks to move, stack, and load/unload materials within a warehouse or distribution center environment. This position requires experience operating stand-up reach trucks, maneuvering in narrow aisles, and using RF scanners to maintain accurate inventory records.
This is a Temp-to-Hire opportunity with the potential for permanent placement based on performance, attendance, and business needs. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required.
Key Responsibilities
Material Handling
Load, unload, stage, and transport inventory from trucks, trailers, or containers.
Accurately move and position materials throughout the warehouse.
Equipment Operation
Safely operate stand-up reach trucks, order pickers, and dock equipment.
Stack and retrieve products from high racking systems.
Navigate narrow aisles and tight warehouse spaces safely and efficiently.
Safety & Compliance
Perform daily pre-shift equipment inspections.
Follow all OSHA and company safety policies.
Report damages, mechanical issues, or safety hazards immediately.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Inventory Control
Utilize Radio Frequency (RF) scanners to track, scan, and record inventory movement.
Maintain accuracy in inventory documentation and counts.
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum of 12 months of stand-up reach truck forklift experience (required).
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent ( GED required ).
Language Requirement
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required) .
