Job Title: Machine Operator Job Description
Operate food mixing, blending, and packaging machinery to support a food manufacturing facility. Ensure adherence to all established safety, health, and quality GMP policies and procedures. Set up and troubleshoot packaging machines and lines, perform changeovers, diagnose problems, and conduct repairs or adjustments as needed.
Responsibilities
Understand and enforce all established safety, health, quality GMP, and company policies, procedures, and recognized practices.
Operate and monitor food mixing, blending, and packaging machinery.
Set up and troubleshoot packaging machines and perform changeovers.
Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and test and make adjustments.
Observe machine operations to ensure product quality and conformity to standards.
Regulate machine flow or speed as required.
Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
Essential Skills
3+ years of experience as a mixing, blending, and/or packaging machine operator.
Background in GMP.
Ability to complete changeovers on machinery.
Spanish language proficiency.
Ability to lift 50 lbs (for blending roles).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in production, machine operation, packaging, changeovers, GMP, mixing, blending, powder coating, and troubleshooting.
Mechanically inclined.
Ability to assist maintenance team with preventive maintenance and minor troubleshooting of machinery.

Work Environment
The work environment is very clean, resembling the smell of a coffee and bakery shop. It is a GMP environment with mostly gravity-fed, high-speed packaging equipment, primarily handling dry goods such as powders. The facility is well-lit with ample space and plans for expansion. The position operates on the 2nd shift from Monday to Friday, from 3:45 pm to 2:00 am.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
