Job Description
This position requires a motivated individual to provide technical engineering for obtaining aviation regulatory approvals of our products on commercial aircraft. This is in the form of Supplemental Type Certification (STC) from regulatory agencies across the globe. The ideal candidate must have proven experience in certifying avionics appliances and avionics systems.
The candidate will act as the technical certification interface, both internally and externally for the projects you support. The successful candidate will be a leader with excellent communications skills to effectively collaborate with external airline customers, FAA, Foreign Certification Authorities, Supply Chain, Quality, and other Engineering disciplines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities .
• Generate STC design data packages and other technical documentation:
Requires ability to interpret existing aircraft design and develop electrical, mechanical, and functional interfaces and modifications to safely install and gain FAA approval of Teledyne Controls avionics.
Generate manufacturing drawings and kit drawings
Proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD) preferred
Generate aircraft documentation including Master Data Lists, Weight and Balance, Electrical Load Analysis, Engineering orders and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness
Generate compliance and substantiation documents for STC projects such as EWIS and System Safety Analysis.
Support First of Type Installations at domestic and international customer locations
Support cross-functional team development which include customer stakeholders, program management, customer service and engineering.
Communicate engineering design solutions both orally and written with customers, and leadership
Performs checking of drawing quality for purposes of certification compliance
Participates in preliminary and critical design reviews with teammates to adequately express certification requirements
Marginal duties may include the following:
Adheres to Export Control and Technology Control Plan (TCP) as applicable to job function
Adheres to Compliance Plan and Employee Policy Manual
Knowledge of communication, navigation, surveillance, and data/voice recording avionics systems is an asset
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or five-to-six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft office tools: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access; Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD is required
Travel
This position requires 10% domestic and international travel.

Salary Range:
$113,600.00-$151,400.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
