Overview
The Director, Technology & Data Platforms is a senior, client‑facing technical and strategic leader within the Global Data Technology, Platforms & Governance function of the Data & Analytics organization. This role defines and scales data, identity, and platform strategies across markets, ensuring consistent global standards while enabling local execution.
The Director leads the design and delivery of scalable data and identity solutions that support audience strategy, campaign activation, optimization, and analytics across the media lifecycle. As a senior advisor to clients and internal stakeholders, the Director drives complex ad tech and mar tech integrations and partners closely with Strategy, Activation, Operations, and Engineering teams across regions.
This role combines deep technical expertise with client and people leadership, educating stakeholders on the evolving data ecosystem (including clean rooms, CDPs, identity, and advanced measurement) and translating innovation into measurable business impact through insights, frameworks, and platform partnerships.
Responsibilities
Architecture Leadership, Business Rules & Solution Strategy
Own and evolve multi-market implementation patterns aligned to global business rules, data architecture, and governance standards
Define and lead solution strategy across data ingestion, transformation, harmonization, identity enablement, and downstream activation and analytics
Set technical direction for platform interoperability and audience activation frameworks across DSPs, CDPs, long-term sustainability rooms, and identity providers
Provide senior guidance on architectural trade‑offs, balancing speed, scalability, privacy, and long-term sustainability
Establish success metrics and adoption KPIs for data, identity, and onboarding solutions across markets
Technical Leadership, Enablement & Automation at Scale
Set engineering and automation strategy to improve reliability, reduce manual effort, and accelerate delivery across clients and markets
Guide best practices for pipelines, orchestration, CI/CD, monitoring, and testing to ensure production-ready solutions
Review and validate technical designs, patterns, and delivery approaches; remove blockers and elevate overall technical quality
Champion reusable components, standardized workflows, and documentation to scale repeatable solutions globally
Maintain sufficient hands-on technical fluency (Python, SQL, modern data platforms) to credibly lead design reviews and senior vendor/platform discussions
Platform Operations, Data Quality & Governance Ownership
Own the end-to-end health of data and platform flows across markets, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and explainability
Lead cross-functional resolution of complex data challenges, including match rates, discrepancies, missing identifiers, API limitations, and misconfigurations
Define, enforce, and evolve governance standards for data connectivity, identity usage, privacy-safe activation, and platform integrations
Establish operational playbooks, QA frameworks, and escalation paths to ensure consistent execution globally
Proactively identify compliance, privacy, and quality risks and partner with leadership to mitigate them
Client Leadership, Delivery Accountability & Business Impact
Own senior client relationships for data, identity, and platform enablement across assigned accounts and markets
Translate client business objectives into multi-quarter data and technology roadmaps aligned to global standards
Share insights, results, and recommendations to influence client strategy, media effectiveness, and business outcomes
Effectively articulate vision, roadmap, and value to sophisticated, experienced digital stakeholders
Actively participate in client decision-making as a trusted strategic advisor, owning data‑ and technology-related business decisions with appropriate leadership input
Lead advanced audience enablement, onboarding, activation, optimization, and testing strategies to drive measurable performance improvement
Maintain accountability for delivery outcomes, including scope, quality, timelines, and stakeholder alignment in fast‑paced, client-driven environments
People Leadership, Cross‑Functional Partnership & Capability Growth
Accountable for Associate Director, Manager, and Associate‑level deliverables across markets; ensure prioritization, quality, and timely execution
Manage, mentor, and develop team members; set clear expectations and build scalable technical and strategic capability
Own onboarding, team readiness, and the establishment of consistent global operating rhythms and ways of working
Inspire innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement across the team
Manage teams independently while aligning priorities to global Data & Analytics objectives and cross-functional dependencies
Act as a senior liaison across Strategy, Activation, Programmatic, Measurement, and Engineering teams to ensure cohesive end-to-end delivery
Elevate data and platform literacy through enablement materials, training, and performance readouts for both client and internal audiences
Engage with vendors, platforms, and partners to evaluate capabilities, identify opportunities, and translate industry learning into a client‑ready POV
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in digital media, ad tech, mar tech, or data platform roles within a client services or consulting environment.
3+ years of experience managing teams with multiple direct reports across functions or markets.
Deep technical expertise across ad and marketing technology ecosystems (DSPs, CDPs, identity resolution, clean rooms, data onboarding, measurement).
Expert understanding of data flows and interoperability within ad tech / mar tech ecosystems.
Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for senior stakeholders.
Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills in ambiguous, high‑impact environments.
Preferred Experience
Agency or marketing technology experience supporting multi‑market or global clients.
Advanced exposure to clean rooms, CDPs, identity strategy, audience activation, and full‑funnel measurement.
Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, BigQuery, Redshift).
Familiarity with orchestration, CI/CD, observability, and modern data operations.
Experience with BI tools and web analytics platforms.

Collaboration & Workflow: Microsoft Teams, Airtable, Smartsheets, HIVE, shared documentation and knowledge‑management tools

Compensation Range: $135,375- $207,424 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
