Job Title: Quality Control Manager
Job Description
The Quality Control Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in construction projects. This role involves regular communication with project managers to provide quality control updates and address any issues that may impact project progress. The individual will coordinate with outside testing agencies, oversee subcontractor submittals, and ensure timely procurement of materials and equipment.
Responsibilities
Communicate regularly with the project manager to provide quality control updates and address issues that may affect progress.
Coordinate and oversee outside testing agencies to ensure proper techniques and compliance with contracts.
Provide oversight of subcontractor submittals and maintain the submittal register.
Order and receive necessary materials and equipment.
Coordinate and administer weekly safety meetings, identifying relevant safety elements.
Monitor quality and safety practices daily to minimize corrections and punch-list items.
Implement authority to stop work in the event of unsafe practices.
Provide direction to the project engineer and prioritize critical path items to maintain the project schedule.
Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance regarding timeliness, efficiency, and quality.
Review deliveries for timeliness and accuracy, ensuring consistency with approved submittals.
Complete daily reports on inventory, work items, weather conditions, quality and safety issues, and site visitors.
Provide weekly updates on 'as-built' conditions and maintain safety logs.
Create and coordinate the completion of a punch-list prior to requesting a 'Substantial Completion' certificate.
Represent the company during testing of alarm systems, mechanical systems, and equipment.
Coordinate with project management to ensure completion and submission of all close-out documents.
Essential Skills
10+ years of proven experience in Quality Control Management.
Current USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Management for Contractors certification.
Clear demonstration of job knowledge, timely decision making, and accurate judgment.
Ability to identify problems, analyze information, and make appropriate recommendations.
Competency to take independent actions and calculated risks while seeking help when needed.
Experience in Federal construction projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and project management software.
Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills with efficient time management.
Ability to work well in group problem-solving situations.
Flexible and capable of meeting established goals while ensuring quality of work.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of El Paso, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00/hr.
