Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join a growing non-profit organization in El Paso, Texas. This is a long-term contract position where you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate payroll processing and supporting administrative tasks. The position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the organization’s operations while developing your skills in payroll and data management.
Responsibilities:
• Verify hourly and salaried timesheets to ensure accurate reporting of hours worked.
• Coordinate and monitor work schedules, requesting updates as needed.
• Manage and update Excel spreadsheets to track hours and maintain accurate records on team calendars.
• Organize and file documents, including timesheets and payroll-related paperwork.
• Process check requests efficiently and assist with batching tasks.
• Prepare correspondence such as letters and handle reimbursements, including envelope preparation and distribution.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure payroll compliance and timely processing.
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in handling sensitive payroll information.
• Assist with resolving payroll discrepancies and addressing employee inquiries. Requirements • Previous experience in payroll processing, including full-cycle payroll.
• Familiarity with payroll systems for small to mid-sized organizations (101-500 employees).
• Knowledge of payroll garnishments and related compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in using Excel for data tracking and reporting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
