Position Description:

Performs specialized analytical duties in the operation and maintenance of assigned area. Responsibilities include

collecting, analyzing and developing data relative to area, making recommendations and assisting in implementation of

projects. Work is performed under general supervision with latitude for independent judgment in accordance with

established policies and procedures. Develop instructional materials and products and assist in the technology-based

redesign of courses. Assist faculty in learning about, becoming proficient in, and applying instructional technology.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with faculty and staff across the institution (Foster School of Medicine, Hunt School of Nursing, Francis Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and Hunt School of Dental Medicine) to design, develop, and revise high-quality courses and curricula.

  • Lead and support the technology-enhanced redesign of courses, including online, blended, and face-to-face learning environments.

  • Assist faculty in learning, adopting, and effectively applying instructional technologies to enhance teaching and learning.

  • Provide training and professional development on instructional technologies, andragogical principles, and evidence-based teaching practices.

  • Develop and facilitate workshops and learning sessions on course design, assessment strategies, accessibility, and innovative teaching methods.

  • Offer individualized consultations to faculty on course planning, instructional design, learning outcomes, and continuous course improvement.

  • Create and maintain instructional resources, guides, and templates that promote best practices in teaching and learning.

  • Support the integration and evaluation of new and emerging educational technologies.

  • Assess the effectiveness of instructional materials, course designs, and teaching strategies using qualitative and quantitative methods.

  • Ensure course content is accessible and aligned with universal design and institutional accessibility standards.

  • Assist faculty in aligning course objectives with program-level and institutional learning outcomes.

  • Contribute to institutional initiatives and strategic plans focused on enhancing teaching, learning, and academic innovation; prepare reports as needed.

  • Analyze instructional and learning data to inform curriculum development and instructional decision-making.

  • Provide technical and instructional support for quality improvement projects, Webex administration, and digital multimedia development, including videos, images, presentations, and electronic surveys.

  • Support administrative and operational activities as assigned, including meeting coordination (scheduling, agendas, minutes), monthly projects, accreditation reporting, networking activities, and Unit Safety Officer responsibilities.

  • Remain current with all licensure, certifications, and mandatory compliance and training requirements for this position.

  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSCEP OPs, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience designing, developing, and implementing instructional materials and learning experiences for higher education faculty, residents, and adult learners.

  • Proficiency with learning management systems (particularly Canvas) and eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate) to support online, blended, and technology-enhanced course design.

  • Demonstrated ability to design, administer, and analyze surveys and other evaluation tools to assess instructional effectiveness and inform course and curriculum improvements.

  • Experience using data to support instructional decision-making, including learning analytics, assessment data, and report development related to teaching and learning initiatives.

  • Proven ability to develop and deliver professional development, training, and workshops focused on instructional design, curriculum development, and educational technologies.

  • Advanced proficiency with productivity and multimedia tools, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud, to create instructional content, resources, and digital learning materials.

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG, universal design for learning) and experience creating inclusive, accessible instructional content.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
