Expeditors Customs Brokerage Supervisor in El Paso, Texas

As a Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day Operations and staff. Support transition and retention of customers.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Utilize dashboards, reports and desk checks to ensure timeliness of file logging, entry/admission/withdrawal filing and billing.
Ensure the team's activities are in compliance with the regulations of local Customs laws and Partner Government Agencies (PGA)
Ensure the team is compliant with the Process Standards and works within the SOP requirements of the client(s)
Ensure the team operates in accordance with the policies and procedures of Expeditors
Ensure our clients are receiving an exceptional level of customer service
Manage team dashboards and productivity. Also, join conference calls and/or pilot programs as designated by management
Assist team members with problem solving and customer service
Perform entry/admission/withdrawal audits and implement corrective actions
Ability to perform all of the functions performed by CSRs including but not limited to processing entries/admissions/withdrawals, meeting KPI's, working with Customs & PGA's, etc.
Ensure all team members are cross trained and that each client has a primary and backup CSRs are assigned.
Create SOPs and transitioning new clients within the team
Periodically review existing SOPs for accuracy and update or send to agent to update as necessary
Ensure all team members are following Expeditors' credit and OCL process.
Review rate schedules for accuracy
Ensure all files are billed timely, accurately and accounting discrepancies are resolved
Ensure proper usage of GL codes
Monitor overtime
Review profitability and productivity - with a goal of eliminating waste
Keep team's morale at a high level and maintain a low level of unplanned turnover
Train, Motivate, Challenge and Mentor other employees
Have routine team meetings with all members of your team to ensure everyone is aware of changes, updates to regulations, etc.
Prepare Annual Employee Reviews and 1 on 1s for members of your team.
Ensure all team members meet or exceed training requirements and deadlines.
At least 3 years of Customs Brokerage Experience with Expeditors' Internal System
At least 1-2 years of lead/supervisory experience
Well-rounded knowledge of the HTSUS
Well-rounded knowledge of the Title 19 of the Code of Federal Regulations
Well-rounded knowledge of the Foreign-Trade Zones Manual
Knowledge and experience with Participating Government Agencies
The ability to troubleshoot and solve problems quickly and effectively
Strong Management Skills
Must be able to commute to the Pullman/El Paso Facility
High School Degree or equivalent required
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Must have the ability to work overtime and/or weekends in support of the department needs
Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and verbal
Good computer skills (Word, Excel, and familiarity with PowerPoint)
Comfortable with numbers and basic mathematical skills
Familiarity with 10-key usage
Ability to multi-task and prioritize throughout the workday while remaining focused and organized
Demonstrated ability to be pro-active in thought and action
Strong organizational Skills
Analytical with a strong attention to detail
Effective interpersonal skills, including proven ability to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
Willing to pitch in and help on last minute projects or assist team members
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Has a demonstrated strong work ethic, and reliability
Comfortable working in a professional business environment
Proven ability and desire to learn new software and technologies
Knowledge of Expeditors Internal System Preferred
Undergraduate Degree Preferred
Customs Brokerage License or Actively pursuing and taking the exam
