Behavioral Support Aide
Pay: $18–$21/hr Schedule: Full-time & Part-time Pay Frequency: Weekly Location: El Monte, CA and surrounding areas
Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking dedicated Behavioral Support Aides to assist students in special education settings. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping students grow, learn, and navigate challenges in a supportive, structured environment. You’ll work closely with teachers and multidisciplinary teams to provide behavioral, instructional, and personal-care support throughout the school day.
What You’ll Do
Support behavior-focused learning using teacher-designed activities, reinforcement systems, visual supports, small-group instruction, and structured routines
Observe and document student behavior and learning progress, sharing insights with teachers and support staff
Assist students throughout the school day, including transitions, recess, lunch, and community-based instruction
Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and classroom operations
Implement behavior intervention strategies under the guidance of teachers, BCBAs, psychologists, and other specialists
Support therapeutic programs developed by PT, OT, SLP, or behavioral professionals
Encourage independence by assisting with self-care tasks such as toileting, hygiene, dressing, and feeding when needed
Help keep classrooms organized by preparing materials, organizing supplies, creating stimuli, making copies, and completing basic clerical tasks
What You’ll Bring
Commitment to professional standards and completion of required competency programs
Current CPR certification, TB screening, and health clearance (as applicable)
Ability to meet all federal, state, and local compliance requirements
Completion of new-hire and site-specific training
Understanding of confidentiality practices, including HIPAA guidelines
Strong communication skills and proficiency in English
