IBM Internship: IBM Z Cryptography Algorithms Optimizer (m/f/x) in Ehningen, Germany

Your role and responsibilities

As part of this internship program, you will combine academic learning with real industry experience. You will work on a low-level cryptography project involving cutting-edge technologies and performance-critical algorithm optimization. Interns collaborate in a small, focused team and contribute to meaningful development tasks.

Required technical and professional expertise

• Enrollment at a university in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related technical field

• Familiar with some Linux distributions

• Knowledge of C programming, at least one assembly language, and experience with Git or other version-control systems

• A strong interest in cryptography or computer algebra

• Solid problem-solving abilities and the capacity to manage multiple tasks

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Fluency in German or English (spoken and written)

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Practical experience implementing big-integer arithmetic algorithms

• Familiarity with elementary number theory

• Knowledge of the IBM Z architecture

• Experience with Linux kernel programming
