Here's how a Digital Marketing Specialist for PCL Industrial Management Inc. within Edmonton Industrial Management contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
Web Presence and Content Governance
Own content strategy and governance for PCL Heavy Industrial's pages on PCL.com — ensuring the division's external presence reflects current markets, active sectors, and BD priorities
Plan and manage a steady cadence of high-quality content including project profiles, sector insights, news releases, and spotlights, working with the division's marketing and content leads
Optimize content for SEO and AEO to improve discoverability across search engines and AI-driven answer platforms
Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders on digital best practices, translating complex industrial subject matter into clear, audience-focused narratives
Social Media and Advocacy
Partner with PCL's corporate social media team to develop and manage a content calendar for the division — shaping narratives and ensuring a consistent pipeline of platform-ready content, not managing day-to-day posting
Coordinate the division's employee advocacy program, providing construction leaders and executives with ready-to-use content through our social publishing platform and making it easy for busy people to show up consistently online
Think in terms of content ecosystems — how a project profile, a news release, or a sector insight can extend across web, social, and advocacy to maximize reach and impact
Manage the division's client-facing digital newsletters and LinkedIn monthly newsletter — coordinating contributors, editing for consistency and quality, and keeping to schedule
Coordination and Planning
Serve as the primary connection point between PCL Heavy Industrial's marketing teams across Canada and the US, the corporate digital team, the social media team, and creative services
Manage content intake, prioritization, and scheduling across the division's external channels
Track performance, interpret what the data is saying, and bring forward recommendations
Qualifications
Post-secondary degree or diploma in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field
Two or more years of experience in a digital content or communications role — we're less interested in years on a resume than in someone who genuinely understands how content moves online and can demonstrate it
Demonstrated experience managing web content strategy and governance, ideally within a CMS environment
Working knowledge of SEO and AEO principles, including how to structure content for search intent, featured snippets, and AI-driven answer platforms
Strong editorial judgment — you can assess content produced by others, improve it quickly, and make the call on what's ready to publish
Experience coordinating across multiple teams and stakeholders without losing momentum or quality
Familiarity with social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn, and with social publishing and advocacy tools
Comfort with content analytics — you know what to measure and can turn data into a recommendation
Strong project management and scheduling instincts — you keep multiple workstreams moving and don't let things fall through the gaps
Experience in AEC, industrial, or infrastructure sectors is preferred but not required — genuine curiosity about the industry is non-negotiable
