The Sup, Genomics & Biomarkers will deliver success to objectives that are aligned with current and future goals of the Genomics Testing Lab and Hackensack Meridian Health. The supervisor instructs and inspires the testing team to reach high performance in a complex clinical environment by stimulating collaborations across all clinical disciplines and partnering with both academic and industry sectors. With expertise in `omics', biomarker discoveries, bioinformatics, tissue engineering, and up-to-date cutting-edge technologies, the supervisor identifies opportunities to translate new scientific opportunities in molecular testing into operations within the lab. The supervisor prioritizes all aims of the department and constructs portfolio strategies that associate with research and intellectual assets. The supervisor catalyzes key scientific methodologies to ensure high quality biospecimen research as appropriate. The supervisor supervises all administrative activities, including finance, budget and staff performance evaluation.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
Minimum of 5 years of experience (at least one of which is in molecular pathology methods) under a qualified section director.
Molecular biology experience.
Knowledge of the field's policies, procedures, and practices.
Project management skills.
Detail oriented.
Strong computer skills related to bio-and clinical informatics and big-data mining, experience to work with IT experts, RNs, allied health professionals and physicians.
Interpersonal and organizational skills.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
Minimum of 7 years of scientific experience in molecular and cell biology or gene.
Minimum of 7 years of collaboration experiences with clinicians, oncologists, pathologists and research coordinators for precision medicine.
Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
ASCP certification in Molecular Biology.
Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS).

Starting at $111,924.80 Annually
