Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Systems Assembly Technician to join a team responsible for building and repairing advanced mechanical test systems. This hands-on role requires technical expertise and the ability to interpret engineering documentation to deliver systems that meet strict quality and schedule standards.
This individual will assemble and configure full systems, troubleshoot and repair customer-owned units, and maintain accurate documentation. Additional responsibilities include supporting process improvements and collaborating closely with engineers and team members. This is a direct-hire, on-site position with a flexible schedule of four 10-hour shifts. The role offers long-term growth and the opportunity to work on industry-leading technology used globally in automotive, aerospace, civil engineering, and materials science applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble and configure mechanical systems per engineering specifications
Interpret technical documents to determine assembly steps and outcomes
Diagnose and repair systems, including disassembly and root-cause analysis
Implement solutions to resolve performance issues
Maintain accurate records and update BOMs and documentation
Execute non-conforming material processes in compliance with standards
Participate in quality and process improvement initiatives
Communicate and collaborate effectively with teams

Skills and Requirements
1-5 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting and assembling complex mechanical systems
2+ years working with hydraulic power units (HPUs) or actuators
Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
Strong understanding of hydraulic technologies (schematics, flow, sealing methods)
Skilled in using precision tools and measurement instruments for assembly and repair
Proven ability to diagnose full-system performance issues and implement corrective actions
Familiarity with BOM updates, documentation practices, and non-conforming material processes - Technical degree in Fluid Power, Hydraulics, or Engineering
Experience with process improvement or quality initiatives
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
