At C.H. Robinson, we’re transforming the future of global logistics and we’re looking for strategic leaders who want to shape that evolution. As our Strategic Growth Director (Inorganic), you’ll drive a disciplined, insight‑led M&A engine that accelerates our Long‑Range Plan (LRP) and fuels enterprise‑wide impact. In this role, you’ll identify and execute inorganic growth opportunities across key verticals and horizontals, ensuring every move aligns with revenue, margin, and capital deployment priorities. Operating at the intersection of strategy, Corporate Development, and FP&A, you’ll turn bold ideas into financially executable outcomes and establish M&A as a repeatable, forecastable growth lever embedded in how we plan for the future. If you’re energized by work that blends strategic vision with measurable results, you’ll thrive here.
Responsibilities:
Strategic M&A Pipeline Leadership
Lead a multi‑year, LRP‑aligned M&A pipeline across enterprise verticals and horizontals
Translate enterprise strategy into clear M&A theses, target profiles, value drivers, and expected financial impact
Maintain visibility from opportunity through deal execution to LRP contribution, ensuring inorganic growth fills strategic and financial gaps
Continuously assess and refine the organization’s inorganic growth capacity relative to LRP priorities
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Financial Alignment
Partner with vertical/horizontal leaders to identify, validate, and shape opportunities tied to explicit LRP outcomes
Align potential acquisitions with operating models, customer segments, and platform strategies
Integrate the M&A pipeline into FP&A processes, including long‑range planning, capital allocation, and scenario modeling
Collaborate with Corporate Development to advance vetted opportunities into deal execution while maintaining strategic and financial integrity
Deal Leadership & Executive Support
Serve as a key deal team member, owning the strategic rationale and value‑creation narrative
Ensure synergy, growth, and integration assumptions reflect LRP‑consistent financial logic
Support executive and Board discussions by articulating how transactions advance enterprise strategy and financial commitments
Post‑Close Value Realization
Partner with integration leaders, FP&A, and business owners to ensure Day 1 readiness and long‑term value capture aligned to LRP assumptions
Monitor post‑close performance and incorporate learnings into future pipeline development and strategy refinement
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 8 years’ progressive experience in M&A, corporate strategy, corporate development, or investment-related roles, with direct involvement in complex, financially material transactions or initiatives
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or advanced degree, in finance, business, economics, or strategy
Strong financial acumen, including hands-on partnership with FP&A on long-range planning, valuation, scenario modeling, and capital allocation decisions for investments of material scale
Proven track record of influencing senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to drive outcomes
Experience in B2B, platform-based, or technology-enabled businesses; logistics or supply chain
