Manpower Engineering is partnering with a leader in medical device manufacturing for a Reliability Engineer/Manager.
Job Title: Reliability Engineer/Manager
Location: Eden Prairie, MN (100% onsite)
Pay: $110,000 - $130,000 + (DOE)
Duration: Direct Hire
Job Function Summary:
The Reliability Manager will own and lead the capital device reliability program. This role is responsible for defining and implementing methods to collect service and performance data, investigate service events, participate in depot service repairs, analyze and trend reliability information, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role will lead cross-functional reliability reviews with leadership, ensure lifecycle changes maintain compliance with applicable standards, and develop and maintain end-of-life (EOL) risk assessments.
The Reliability Manager will collaborate closely with Operations, Development, Field, and Quality teams to ensure cross-functional alignment and effective project execution. In addition, this role will provide input on new project initiatives to establish proactive reliability improvements and support lifecycle activities, including new customer configurations.
This role owns execution of post-market and sustaining reliability activities. They will support Quality/Design Assurance’s ownership of formal design inputs, design verification requirements, risk acceptability decisions, and regulatory reliability claims.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Reliability Manager will be primarily responsible for using capital system returns and service data to create reliability projects to improve system robustness. They will coordinate with Operations, Development, Quality and Field Service to prioritize and implement these projects.
This is a hands-on role, where the candidate is expected to learn the technology from the ground up and be directly involved in troubleshooting investigations and data analysis.
The candidate will develop operational metrics like MTBF, return rates, and/or pareto trending to monitor performance and keep the organization apprised of system performance.
The Reliability Manager will also be tasked with lifecycle management projects, including helping to create future customer configurations and line extensions of the capital system.
They will participate in new development projects to recommend design for manufacturability with data-driven recommendations or field-derived insights.
They will support the development of reliability acceptance criteria for new product introductions with Design Assurance and Development teams.
Supports Quality-owned CAPA and risk management processes by providing failure analysis, trends, and technical input; does not own CAPA approval or risk acceptability decisions.

Work with, and advise, the R&D and Quality teams in trends in reliability and areas to focus improvement.

Work with field and project teams to prioritize new product initiatives to expand our customer configurations.
Education and Experience:
5+ Years
Manufacturing & Development experience required
Experience in reliability engineering or lifecycle improvement projects
Project management experience
Medical Device/Industry experience
Startup, small business experience preferred .
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
