Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist (Part-Time)Job Description
The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a key role in supporting the accounting function by processing invoices, performing three-way matching, validating financial data, and assisting with basic accounting tasks. This part-time position offers flexibility in scheduling and the opportunity to grow with a developing finance team as responsibilities evolve.
Responsibilities
Maintain and monitor the accounts payable inbox to ensure timely responses and prompt processing of documents.
Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, invoices, and receipts to ensure accuracy and proper authorization.
Validate accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies.
Process invoices and purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
Enter, update, and maintain sales and financial data in spreadsheets to support internal reporting and analysis.
Assist with basic accounting maintenance tasks as needed to support the broader finance and accounting team.
Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable information as required.
Ensure all work is completed accurately, consistently, and on schedule, including during lower-volume periods.
Collaborate with the accounting team to support continuous improvement of processes and workflows.
Essential Skills
At least 1 year of experience in accounting, accounts payable, or a closely related role.
Hands-on experience with accounts payable processes, including invoice processing and purchase order matching.
Working knowledge of accounts receivable and expense processing.
Experience with data entry and maintaining accurate financial records.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data entry, tracking, and reporting.
Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Great Plains.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a part-time schedule.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
Comfort working with spreadsheets to support internal reporting and financial analysis.
Ability to adapt to evolving responsibilities within a growing finance team.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
Willingness to support basic accounting maintenance tasks beyond core accounts payable duties.
Interest in potential long-term or more permanent opportunities as the team structure evolves.
Work Environment
This is a part-time, on-site role based in Eden Prairie, MN, working approximately 30 hours per week with flexibility to design a schedule between Monday and Thursday. The accounting team is small and collaborative, currently consisting of a CFO, Controller, Accounting Manager, and this position, which creates close interaction and exposure to multiple aspects of finance and accounting. The finance team is relatively new and actively refining roles and responsibilities, offering opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and potentially transition into a more permanent role as the team evolves. Work is performed in a professional office environment using Microsoft Excel and an ERP system (preferably Great Plains), with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and support for process improvement.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
