Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Logistics Specialist to support outbound shipping and freight operations for a global manufacturing organization. This role will own the majority of domestic freight activity, coordinating shipments from scheduling through delivery, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and cost efficiency.
This role will serve as a key point of contact between internal teams, carriers, and third party logistics providers, while also gaining exposure to international shipping processes through cross‑training. This is a hands on role ideal for someone who enjoys ownership, problem solving, and working in a fast paced, collaborative environment.
Daily Responsibilities:
Own and coordinate domestic outbound freight shipments (LTL, FTL, dedicated)
Schedule pickups and deliveries with carriers, brokers, and 3PL partners
Determine best transportation mode based on cost, timing, and shipment requirements
Prepare and review shipping documentation; audit freight invoices
Track and expedite shipments as needed to meet delivery commitments
Partner cross‑functionally with internal teams to ensure smooth shipment execution
Gain exposure to international shipping through cross training

Skills and Requirements
3+ years of domestic freight/logistics experience (U.S. over the road)
Experience scheduling, coordinating, and owning outbound domestic shipments
Strong experience working with carriers, brokers, and 3PLs
Knowledge of LTL vs. FTL decision making
Experience working within an ERP system (SAP or Oracle preferred)
Prior experience working with freight carriers, brokers, and 3PLs
Ability to prepare and review shipping documentation and audit freight invoices - International shipping exposure (air/ocean)
Familiarity with TMS platforms (any major system)
Background in manufacturing or industrial environments
Experience with large U.S. 3PLs
