Preble County Job & Family Services Eligibility and Referral Specialist I in Eaton, Ohio
DUTIES OF POSITION: Conducts interviews to determine ongoing eligibility for public assistance programs. Approves, denies, and completes re-certifications on applications within state guidelines. Performs duties relating to preparation and ongoing maintenance of case records. Responds to phone and mail correspondence and takes appropriate action on cases. Computes budgets and completes necessary forms to complete case including overpayments and fraud cases. Attends staff development and other training sessions. Other duties as assigned.
This position may train to be an Eligibility Referral Specialist II. An Eligibility Referral Specialist II processes initial applications for public assistance programs. Upon successful completion of training and probation, the Eligibility Referral Specialist I may promote to an Eligibility Referral Specialist II. This promotion will require and additional probationary period upon promotion.
