Arvato Bertelsmann Maintenance Technician in Easton, Pennsylvania
The Maintenance Technician supports operations at Carbel, a leading logistics and distribution provider for the fashion and apparel industry and part of the Arvato family. This role is responsible for maintaining automated material handling equipment inside a high-volume distribution center to ensure continuous flow of product and minimal operational downtime. This position works directly with conveyors, automated labeling equipment, Jolly machines, and supporting boiler systems. The technician will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures in real time and partner with operations to quickly restore productivity on the floor.
YOUR TASKS
Troubleshoot and repair conveyor systems, motors, and drives
Maintain automated labeling / print & apply systems
Service Jolly machines and associated boiler/steam equipment
Diagnose sensor, photo-eye, and communication faults
Perform preventive maintenance on material handling equipment (MHE)
Respond to equipment stoppages and restore production flow quickly
Read electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams to identify failures
Replace components including belts, rollers, bearings, motors, and pneumatic parts
Document repairs, parts usage, and downtime causes
Identify recurring failures and recommend reliability improvements
Follow lockout/tagout and all safety procedures
YOUR PROFILE
Technical or technological degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field OR equivalent hands-on industrial maintenance experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial or specialized equipment maintenance (warehouse, production, or automated equipment preferred)
Strong knowledge of electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Experience troubleshooting both mechanical and electrical equipment
Ability to diagnose, repair, and optimize complex automated machinery and material handling equipment
Skilled in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and electrical diagrams
Familiarity with motors, sensors/photo-eyes, conveyors, and automated equipment preferred
Experience using diagnostic tools and maintenance software (CMMS preferred) and generating technical reports
Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to continuous improvement
Availability for scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs as needed in an operating warehouse environment
Bilingual in English and Spanish required
