Dr. Del Torto and Dr. Stranahan have assembled a first-rate staff of dermatologists, certified physician assistants, and medical and surgical assistants, all of whom strive to deliver the best possible care to their patients. This ranges from helping to improve chronic skin conditions like acne, to developing customized skin rejuvenation programs and skillfully treating skin cancer with the specialized Mohs surgery.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated

Biologic Coordinator / Prior Authorization Specialistto join our team. This role is responsible for coordinating biologic and specialty medication therapies, managing prior authorizations and appeals, and serving as a liaison between patients, providers, pharmacies, and insurance companies. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in healthcare authorization processes and a passion for helping patients access the treatments they need.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience inprior authorization, biologic coordination, or specialty pharmacy.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance verification, benefits investigation, and appeal processes.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with electronic medical record systems

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the initiation, continuation, and renewal of biologic and specialty medication therapies.
  • Submit and trackprior authorizations, step edits, and appealswith insurance companies in a timely manner.
  • Conductbenefits investigationsto determine patient coverage, co-pays, and financial assistance options.
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding approval status, medication access, and assistance programs.
  • Collaborate with providers and pharmacists to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with treatment plans.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date records of authorizations, denials, and re-submissions.
  • Assist patients in enrolling inmanufacturer support and bridge programswhen needed.
  • Stay current with payer policies, prior authorization requirements, and industry updates.
  • Provide administrative support to clinical staff related to biologic therapies.
