Project Overview:
Bechtel is providing project and contract management services to Western Power on the Clean Energy Link Project. This project will expand the transmission network to connect new renewable generation sources. The scope will consist of construction of new 330kV and 132kV terminals and associated transmission infrastructure as well upgrade and modification works to existing terminal stations. We are looking for people to join us on this exciting capital works program within an integrated team with our customer.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will work with the project team to prepare and manage the project schedule. You will perform schedule integrations, prepare work logic, identify restraints and potential impacts, develop recovery plans, and evaluate subcontractor schedules for improvements. You will be instrumental in ensuring projects stay on track and on time. Your activities will synthesize project components into seamless execution. The role will have one or more direct reports.
"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership”
Major Responsibilities:
Receives day-to-day guidance from the Project Controls Manager but will be responsible for supporting the project office and site office will all planning / scheduling resources and output deliverables.
Provides input, guidance and recommendations for planning / scheduling requirements relative to staffing and project control.
Prepare detailed staffing plans for planning / scheduling activities.
Coordinate’s scheduling and planning inputs from all functions to ensure a robust and achievable schedule is prepared.
Coordinate the set-up of and maintenance thereafter of the specific quantity tracking metrics to ensure weekly quantities are meeting the project schedule requirements.
Ascertains that the correct scope of work is reflected on all schedules.
Anticipates, identifies, and provides mitigation strategies for problems before they adversely affect a project, and follows up to resolve conflicts, problems, and unresolved issues.
Integrates interdisciplinary schedule requirements and constraints to establish logical work sequences for assigned disciplines or specialties. Works with Studies and Approvals team to ensure that the schedule accurately details the inputs and timelines to allow continuity of all scopes of works.
Establishes and implements methods for determining activity durations provided by contractors within assigned disciplines or specialties. Ensures all reports are providing adequate over-view of contractor scheduled activities.
Reviews, analyses, updates, and provides input to project Master Schedule and other control schedules.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience #LI-AF1
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Proficiency in using PC operating systems and multi discipline specific software applications (Primavera P6, Microsoft applications).
Skilled in oral and written communication, with demonstrated ability to present Project Controls information to management/client.
Demonstrated skill in identifying, analysing, and solving problems.
Advanced level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up work processes.
Knowledge of current industry and technical developments.
Experience customer side and working within an integrated team is preferred.
