NuHealth/Nassau Health Care Corporation Admissions Officer in East Meadow, New York
We are NuHealth. We want to make culturally sensitive health care more affordable and more accessible here on Long Island. Located in East Meadow, Nassau University Medical Center is the only public, safety net hospital in Nassau County. Nassau University Medical Center, a public hospital and community health care center is a Level I Trauma Center and a 530-bed teaching hospital located in East Meadow, NY. We are currently seeking multiple full-time Admissions Officers to perform diversified duties helping our patients. Duties may include, but are not limited to: Screen admission calls as to degree of emergency and eligibility. Interview patients or families to obtain personal data and to explain hospital regulations. Assign patients to areas, answer queries regarding patients condition. Receive/process legal notifications such as birth certificates. Take census of patients admitted and discharged. Perform duties requiring computer entry. We require: High School Diploma or equivalent. 2 years of office experience in a hospital or health-related environment.
Experience, as outlined above, in excess of the two-year requirement, may be substituted for high school education on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two years.
Education at a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university (30 credits) may be substituted for one year of the above-mentioned experience.
