Michigan State University(MSU) Operations Coordinator in East Lansing, Michigan

Position Summary

The Operations Coordinator will provide financial and administrative support within a Shared Services model, ensuring accurate accounting procedures and timely financial transactions across multiple units. This role requires exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills to maintain compliance and efficiency in operations. The position oversees purchasing and billing processes for ICER, HPCC, and related units, including software, hardware, and storage acquisitions. Responsibilities also include managing fee-for-service billing, reconciling accounts, maintaining enterprise financial systems, and supporting pricing assessments. Additional duties involve generating reports, coordinating resources, and performing general office tasks. The salary range for this position is $56,000 to $64,000 annually. This position is hybrid-remote and will require a minimum of one day per week (Wednesday) on-site in East Lansing, MI.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through the first two or three years of college, such as an Associate's degree in a business-related field or in a field related to the area of employment; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in performing tasks related to the area of employment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. May require certification in the area of employment.

Desired Qualifications

Experience: 2-3 years of progressively responsible experience in office and operations coordination.

Technical Skills: Financial systems management (EBS, KFS), billing and fee-for-service models, purchasing and procurement processes, financial reporting and reconciliation, data analysis and budget monitoring, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related accounting software. 

Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills, problem-solving and analytical thinking, clear and professional communication, adaptability in a dynamic environment, collaborative team approach.
