EJ Facility Eng & Maint Svcs Mgr in East Jordan, Michigan
SUMMARY
Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for the design, planning, organization, control, and integration of facility engineering and maintenance projects. Ensures facilities, equipment, and systems support the companys longrange operational and business objectives. Provides expertise and support across all manufacturing locations and works collaboratively with FES staff and regional leaders to deliver highquality engineering solutions and continuous improvement.
Performs the following duties in conjunction with FES staff and through collaboration with regional leaders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Promotes the culture, the mission and vision, and the core values of the company. This includes adherence to and promotion of the company safety beliefs, employee engagement, competencies, code of conduct, and other policies and procedures.
Works independently with minimal supervision, taking full project ownership from concept through completion.
Partners with FES and regional leaders to develop engineering solutions, perform technical studies, and create project plans.
Provides engineering consultation and troubleshooting support to manufacturing facility engineering and maintenance teams.
Prepares engineering specifications and designs; resolves technical questions related to design, installation, and project execution.
Develops and maintains standard equipment and facility design requirements and specifications.
Provides technical support to Project Engineers, Designers, and regional Facility Maintenance teams.
Leads, mentors, and develops FES electrical engineering staff.
Manages project financials, including forecasting, budget analysis, and cost control.
Supports annual capital expenditure (CapEx) planning and regional projects involving Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Controls, Robotics, and Maintenance.
Facilitates crossregional sharing of facility, equipment, and technology best practices.
Obtains and reviews proposals and quotes from contractors and suppliers.
Prepares permit applications and ensures all required approvals are secured.
Assists regions in coordinating contractors, maintenance teams, and production personnel to complete projects efficiently.
Tracks project progress, monitors adherence to plans and specifications, and provides guidance to drive timely completion.
Builds and maintains strong working relationships across facilities and departments; recommends facility and equipment upgrades aligned with industry best practices.
Develops and implements long- and short-term facility upgrade strategies, including new facility planning.
Prepares project status reports and facilitates communication among stakeholders to prevent conflicts and maintain project momentum.
Supports the Corporate Environmental Policy by promoting the use of recyclable materials, minimizing environmental impact, and driving continuous environmental improvement.
Assists in managing facility records and participates in on-site environmental, safety, and quality audits.
Supports FES policy development and compliance auditing.
Provides expertise in risk management and ensures adherence to internal and external standards.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages engineers within the Facility Engineering & Support Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibility in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning and assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Travel
Domestic and international travel required. Must maintain a valid travel documents.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree (B.S.) in Engineering or related field; minimum of ten years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) required.
Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred.
ERP system experience and Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred.
Foundry and foundry equipment experience preferred
