CBRE Senior Facilities Engineering Operations Manager - Mechanical in East Hartford, Connecticut

This position is part of our Engineering and TechnicalServices function—responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting,and repairs on critical mechanical building systems, including HVAC andplumbing Your leadership ensuresreliability, safety, and efficiency across the portfolio.

What You’ll Do:

Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor thetraining and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations andcoaching. Lead all aspects of the recruiting and hiring of new employees.

Perform Asset management and Capital Planning.

Advise and Mentor Technicians and Engineers on all aspectsof mechanical systems(HVAC, Plumbing)

Coordinate and lead the team's daily activities. Establishwork schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff.

Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor andcoach as needed.

Collaborate with other departments and key collaborators toensure that business needs are being met.

Review data and make recommendations for improvements toprocesses, procedures, and systems.

Stay up to date with industry trends and standard processesand apply knowledge to drive innovation and growth.

Handle budgets and resources optimally, ensuring that allexpenditures are supported and aligned with company goals.

Ensure the team follows compliance with all relevant laws,regulations, and policies.

Apply a broad knowledge of the business, own field, and howown field integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.

Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent withCBRE RISE values. Influence others to adopt a different point of view whilebeing guided by policies and departmental plans.

Identify and solve technical and operational problems ofcomplexity.

Understand and recognize the broader impact across thedepartment.

Improve and change existing methods, processes, andstandards within the job field.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.

  • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.

  • Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.

  • Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job field, multiple job fields, and department.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive attitude.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with up to 3 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Certification in Corporate Real Estate, LEED, or Facilities Management preferred.

  • Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.

  • Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.

  • Intermediate math skills. Ability to calculate difficult figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.

Turner & Townsend carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is $100,000 annually and the maximum salary for this position is $120,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on Turner & Townsend’s applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
