K & D Krueger Farms & Sons Agricultural Equipment Operator in East Grand Forks, Minnesota

Job Duties

Hours: Monday-Saturday 8:00am-5:00pm

Start Date: March 15, 2026

End Date: December 20, 2026

SUMMARY OF POSITION

This is a full-time position and will assist in the raising of corn, soybeans, hard red spring wheat and sunflowers on a family-owned farm near East Grand Forks, MN. The worker has the responsibility, with a team, to operate various pieces of farm equipment including but not limited to seeding equipment, application equipment including a sprayer and fertilizer spreader, combine, tillage equipment. This is all to assist in raising a productive and profitable crop. This person will need to be knowledgeable in and be able to utilize various types of ag-related technology. Various other job duties may be assigned and asked to be completed. Hours may vary during the season, with work starting earlier or later based on weather and crop condition or other factors related to farming. Workers may be requested but not required to work at night or on their Sabbath or on Federal Holidays.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Ability to operate various farm equipment including fertilizer spreader, sprayer, combine, drive truck to haul crops, tillage, and other pieces of farm equipment

Ability to regularly perform maintenance on the farm at regular service intervals

Assist in repairing and maintaining farm equipment and general buildings

Ability to operate and utilize precision agriculture apps and programs (like John Deere Operations Center)

Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 60 lbs.

REQUIREMENTS

• Be a team player with a positive attitude and trustworthiness

• Good communicator

• Knowledge of safe workplace practices

• Prior experience operating farm equipment. We operate newer John Deere equipment and Freightliner semi units.

• A willing attitude and desire to learn new skills

• Ability to troubleshoot problems and plan solutions

• A valid driver’s license, no CDL is required

Minimum Education Required

High School Diploma/GED

Minimum Experience Required

Three (3) months prior experience running farm equipment is required.

Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 60 lbs.

Valid Class D Driver's License required.

Criminal background check after hire at employer's expense, due to expensive equipment and children on the farm. Possible random drug screen after hire at employer's expense. Failure to comply or failure to pass either the criminal background check or random drug screen may result in termination of employment.

Additional Compensation

As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay.

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.

Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
