Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in a heat treat shop. You will be responsible for preventive and reactive maintenance primarily on furnaces, water towers, and various equipment in a hot environment. Ideal candidate will have maintenance experience from a manufacturing environment, but open to candidates that have great mechanical skills from other industries.
Responsibilities
Perform preventive and reactive maintenance (PMs and RMs) on furnaces, water towers, and other equipment.
Conduct electrical maintenance including fixing motors, wiring, and switches.
Execute mechanical maintenance tasks such as tear down and rebuilds of pumps.
Handle hydraulic/plumbing maintenance involving simple plumbing and water fixes like valves.
Perform pneumatic/HVAC maintenance including maintaining air lines, filters, and moisture traps.
Document completed jobs using a tablet and take pictures for records.
Review blueprints and schematics daily; familiarity is important.
Ensure general cleaning and organization of the production floor post-job completion.
Work comfortably in a very dirty environment involving oils and dust.
Essential Skills
2+ years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic.
Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance.
Familiarity with blueprints and schematics.
Willingness to work on-call and rotate for calls with a team of 3.
Availability for mandatory weekend shifts every other weekend.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in troubleshooting, electrical repairs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and preventive maintenance.
Ability to handle maintenance repairs and possess mechanical aptitude.
Skills in PLC troubleshooting, welding, motors, HVAC, and plumbing.

Work Environment
Work in a heat treat shop with a warm environment, especially during summer. The shop is well-organized, though the role may involve getting dirty. The position operates on a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 4:30 pm. Be part of an on-call team rotating based on expertise and availability.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Granby, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
