We are looking for a Senior Tax Associate to join our team in East Brunswick, New Jersey. Compensation:
The salary for this role is $95,000-$110,000. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New Jersey. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review federal and state tax workpapers that support estimated payments, investor reporting, and timely filing obligations.
• Assist with tax compliance activities for various entities, including analysis of tax-basis balances, depreciation schedules, withholding matters, and earnings and profits adjustments.
• Contribute to income tax provision work by gathering data, performing calculations, and supporting reporting requirements under applicable accounting standards.
• Partner with external tax advisors to address return review comments, resolve technical questions, and support special projects.
• Research complex tax matters, evaluate potential implications, and help develop practical recommendations for the business.
• Draft clear written documentation to support tax positions, technical conclusions, and key discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while monitoring deadlines and maintaining accuracy across recurring and project-based work.
• Support tax planning initiatives by analyzing financial information and identifying issues that may affect filings, projections, or compliance processes.
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in partnership taxation; public accounting experience is advantageous.
• Working knowledge of federal and state income tax compliance and supporting workpaper preparation.
• Familiarity with private equity fund structures and exposure to income tax provision work is preferred.
• Strong Excel skills, including formula usage and the ability to work within detailed spreadsheets.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain tax matters clearly.
• Demonstrated research capability and comfort using multiple tax and accounting reference tools.
• Excellent organization and time-management skills with the ability to handle competing priorities and meet deadlines.
