Role Overview
Sodexo is hiring our General Manager 4 Environmental Services for a potential sale in New Jersey for the K12 segment. As a key leader within our Facilities Management team, our General Manager will oversee custodial, sanitation, and grounds operations while ensuring exceptional service delivery to a high‑visibility client environment. Reporting directly to the FM Director, this role requires a hands‑on leader with strong technical expertise, the ability to communicate effectively with C‑Suite stakeholders, and the operational discipline to manage a complex budget. Our ideal candidate brings a blend of custodial and grounds knowledge, team leadership, and a commitment to maintaining safe, clean, and efficient equipment and facilities. (Black Seal Certification is required in NJ). This is a potential sale, and contingent offers will be made.
What You'll Do
Have the Black Seal Certification required in NJ
Optimize a $2M+ annual budget , identifying cost‑saving opportunities without compromising service standards.
Oversee preventive maintenance programs for custodial equipment and ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Serve as the primary point of contact for senior client leadership, providing clear communication, updates, and strategic recommendations.
Lead daily operations across custodial, sanitation, and grounds teams, ensuring high-quality service and regulatory compliance
Coach, mentor, and develop staff, driving performance improvements and fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork.

What You Bring
Have the Black Seal Certification required in NJ
A robust technical background in sanitation, custodial operations, and grounds maintenance.
Demonstrated experience managing large, diverse teams across custodial and grounds functions.
Strong communication skills with proven success interacting with C‑Suite and senior administration.
A track record of effective budget management, cost savings, and operational efficiency improvements.
