Position Summary:
The scope of a Patient Services Coordinator includes support of the health center’s new patient primary care provider (PCP) assignment, registration, insurance enrollment processes and acts as patient advocates. The primary functions includes actively recruiting, assessing, screening, and interviewing potential and actual patients of all ages for eligibility to a government sponsored health coverage programs. The Patient Services Coordinator is responsible for assisting with insuring that all eligibility applications are complete, accurate, and processed in a timely manner and that pertinent coverage and other important data is entered correctly into EPIC.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Processes applications for actual and potential patients of NeighborHealth to obtain or maintain eligibility for health coverage not limited to MassHealth (includes disability, 65+, and Buy In), Health Safety Net, Health Connector, Children’s Medical Security Plan.
Assist seniors and disabled patients with enrollment into prescription coverage, specifically Prescription Advantage and Medicare Part D.
Thoroughly and accurately assesses and screens patients to determine probable eligibility for a variety of health coverage programs. This includes comprehensive and an up to date knowledge of the eligibility programs, the eligibility requirements, and covered benefits/services by program, and any out of pocket costs to the patient.
Thoroughly and concisely completes applications for eligibility in a timely manner.
Completes all interface with the state for all applications ensuring that the applications and supporting documentation was completely sent/received.
Updates EPIC appropriately with coverage, FPL, Enrollment Notices, etc .
Use all applications and eligibility systems available appropriate to the patient’s situation, specifically, MAP, POSC/ MMIS, etc.
Qualifications and Requirements:
HS Diploma/GED.
Bilingual fluency Spanish/English required.
Mass Health Experience is preferred.
Demonstrated understanding of all government sponsored health insurance programs
Previous Customer Service work or volunteer experience required.
Demonstrated excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
Exceptional judgment, initiative, and leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to promote a team environment with proven successful outcomes
Pay Range:
Starts at $21.51 up to $32.26 based on experience
