Job Title: Pellet Mill Operator
Job Description
This role operates on the 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The position involves operating the pellet mill, requiring prior experience in machine operation within a manufacturing setting. Experience in material handling, including sit down or standup forklift operation, is advantageous for moving skids.
Responsibilities
Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot the pellet mill and associated machines.
Monitor required ingredients to produce high-quality pellets.
Perform quality checks to ensure pellets meet standards.
Operate the bagging, sealing, stacking, and wrapping equipment.
Understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and participate in SOP modification to improve productivity and quality.
Operate heavy equipment, such as wheeled loaders and fork trucks.
Wear necessary protective gear including hearing, eye, breathing, and hand protection.
Essential Skills
Experience in machine operation and forklift handling.
Proficiency in operating heavy equipment, specifically front loaders.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Capability to perform quality checks and troubleshoot equipment
Ability to stack bags at different heights on skids.
Proficiency in climbing ladders.
Work Environment
The work environment is temperature-variable, being hot in the summer and cool in the winter. It is a woodworking company, which means employees will work in a dusty environment at times. Employees are required to wear jeans and a t-shirt, with safety glasses provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Berlin, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
