Job Description
This role supports U.S. Bank’s vehicle collateral protection efforts by managing impound‑related activities for customer vehicle accounts where the Bank holds a lien. This role serves as a critical intake point into the Repossession and Collateral Liquidation process and helps mitigate financial loss by ensuring timely, compliant decision‑making.
The position combines document processing, external partner communication, negotiation, and operational judgment. While this is not a call‑center role, it requires frequent phone interaction with impound and tow facilities.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage inbound impound notices received via mail, internal systems, and vendor sources
Review and process documentation related to impounded vehicles where U.S. Bank holds a lien
Communicate directly with impound and tow facilities to confirm vehicle status, storage conditions, and next steps
Notify customers as required and document all activity in internal systems
Evaluate whether it is in U.S. Bank’s best financial interest to recover an impounded vehicle
Coordinate vehicle pickup and transition into the repossession process when recovery is approved
Support state‑law‑driven and time‑sensitive processes to prevent loss of collateral or lien position
Maintain accurate, detailed records to ensure compliance and audit readiness
Negotiate storage fees and related costs with impound facilities when appropriate
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Typically three to five years of experience in clerical, operations, or customer service–focused roles
Preferred Skills & Experience
Strong verbal communication skills and comfort with phone‑based partner communication
Ability to handle difficult or sensitive conversations professionally
Attention to detail in documentation, recordkeeping, and compliance
Sound judgment and decision‑making skills when evaluating financial risk and cost
Ability to manage multiple time‑sensitive tasks and deadlines
Proficient computer and system navigation skills, including Microsoft Office applications
Experience working with external vendors, documentation workflows, or regulated processes
Bonus (not required): Exposure to impound facilities, repossession, collateral liquidation, or similar vendor‑facing operations
Location Expectations
This position is a hybrid role which has weekly onsite attendance requirements of 3+ days a week in the following hubs
Cincinnati, OH
Earth City, MO
Owensboro, KY
The schedule options for this role are:
Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 4:00 pm or 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $20.00 - $22.50
