Why Work Here?
You join a close-knit, family-oriented workplace where many team members work alongside relatives and enjoy a strong sense of community. The company offers very competitive pay for the industry and is growing rapidly, with plans to expand production and improve facilities. Team members can take home free tortillas and benefit from a planned remodel that will make the break area larger, more comfortable, and more modern. There is flexibility in attire, such as being able to wear shorts on the production floor, and there is potential for performance-based pay increases when hired on directly.
Work Environment
You work in a high-volume food production facility that manufactures tortillas for major brands. The environment is very fast paced and can become extremely hot, reaching temperatures up to 100 degrees, especially near ovens. You will be on your feet for an 8-hour shift, frequently lifting up to 50 pounds and working around flour and gluten in the air. The role requires strict adherence to food safety standards: you must wear a full gown, hair net, and, if applicable, a beard net, all provided by the company. You also use hearing protection such as earplugs or earmuffs, which are provided. To prevent contamination, you cannot wear jewelry, makeup, nail polish, fake eyelashes, or any items that could fall off into the product. The production floor allows shorts as part of the dress code, provided all required protective gear is worn. Breaks include two 30-minute periods per day, one paid and one unpaid, scheduled in coordination with the area lead. The facility uses production lines, packaging equipment, box printers, and palletizing stations, and you will use computers to enter job and production data as part of your daily tasks.
