Your role and responsibilities
Your roles and responsibilities will include:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing software development team
Execute a roadmap to reduce technical complexity, eliminate redundancy, and streamline tooling, architectures, and workflows across the platform.
Establish common development frameworks, IaC practices, and shared services that work seamlessly across on‑prem and cloud services
Partner with platform engineering, DevOps, architecture, and security teams to ensure simplification initiatives align with our simplification strategy
Partner with Product Management and Architecture on planning, prioritization, and execution
Foster a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and collaboration
Guide the team in adopting modern development practices, tooling, DevOps, and automation
Define, drive, and mature enterprise‑grade CI/CD strategies, ensuring scalable, automated, and reliable delivery pipelines.
Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and support career progression
Ensure compliance with security, data protection, and regulatory requirements
Promote innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning within the team
Define, together with team members, their career trajectory within IBM and work to make them successful.
Maintain a constant overview of the team’s work progress and workload to share with stakeholders if necessary.
Required technical and professional expertise
Demonstrated experience leading and developing high‑performing teams.
Experience in coaching, mentoring, training staff and setting expectations to achieve desired outcomes
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
Experience driving delivery, prioritization, and execution in agile or hybrid development environments.
Track record of fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and psychologically safe team culture.
Ability to balance people leadership with strategic planning and operational excellence.
Skilled at stakeholder management across product, design, architecture, and executive leadership.
Strong decision‑making abilities grounded in data, risk evaluation, and customer needs.
Preferred technical and professional experience
Business Operations Knowledge: Experience with managing business operations, including revenue performance, expense control, and profit management. Ability to analyze financial data and make informed decisions to drive business growth.
Quality Assurance Expertise: Experience in implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Financial Planning Skills: Experience with developing and administering budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to support business objectives.
