Little, a renowned design firm, is seeking a Mechanical-Electrical Engineering Principal to champion our MEP Engineering Studio and advance the vision of our Engineering Practice in the Durham, NC office.

A bit more about our leadership role:

  • You’ll work with our Engineering Practice Leader and Structural leaders in Durham to create a strong culture of creativity and collaboration between our engineers and architects, as well as implement our strategic growth plan for Engineering which will further drive Little’s overall goals

  • You’ll help us increase the influence and impact of our mechanical engineers on projects from the

earliest stage of design to drive integrated problem solving

  • You’ll help us increase the impact of our electrical engineers on project, grow the electrical group so they become independent electrical studio.

  • You’ll deepen our commitment to progressive sustainable design practices on our projects

  • You’ll assist with business development and marketing efforts, write qualifications and fee proposals, and represent our mechanical team at presentations and with clients

  • You are curious and creative, open to new concepts, able to explore many design options, and able to collaborate with and build on the ideas of others

  • You are a thought leader with an interest in emerging trends and leading edge designs

  • You are a strong communicator who is extremely responsive, able to make positive long-term connections with clients and teammates, and will participate in interviews for new projects

  • You enjoy being an advocate for engineering, giving back to the community, attending and/or speaking at conferences or writing articles

  • You can lead and inspire a team of professionals, earn trust and confidence from clients, and proactively resolve any issues or concerns

    Candidates should have most/all of the following Qualifications:

  • Registered Mechanical Engineer, willing to register in additional states (NCEES Record a plus)

  • Minimum 12+years ofprofessional experience indesign ofmechanicalbuilding systemswithstrong knowledge of building, energy, and mechanical codes

  • Proven CA experience, including successful field engineering to resolve conflicts and issues

  • LEED experience and passion for Sustainability (LEED AP a plus)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated leadership experience and accomplishments (people, projects, budgets)

  • Demonstrated thought leadership through ambitious projects, industry recognition, speaking and/or writing engagements, etc.
