CBRE Bldg Engineer/Facilities Maintenance Technician - Life Sciences Client Site in Durham, North Carolina

Aboutthe Role:

As a CBRE Building Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring,maintaining and repairing building system operations and the performance ofvarious areas including plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, andcooling.

Thisjob is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They areresponsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs onequipment and systems.

WhatYou’ll Do:

  • Perform maintenance and repairs to the mechanical, plumbing,structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems. Keep facilityand building systems up to applicable standards as assigned.

  • Perform minor plumbing repairsincluding leak repairs, fixture replacement, drain clearing, and adjustment ofvalves and fittings.

  • Complete fit and finish work such asmounting fixtures, whiteboards, signage, monitors, shelving, and otherwall-mounted equipment.

  • Support minor furniture moves,reconfigurations, and setup, including offices, workstations, and commonspaces.

  • Perform painting, wall repair, andsurface restoration, including drywall patching, touch-up painting, andcosmetic repairs to maintain a professional appearance.

  • Supportthe HVAC team with preventive maintenance, inspections, basic troubleshooting,and repair work as needed

  • Performand document work in accordance with GMP, SOPs, and site quality standards,including accurate and timely completion of maintenance records, logbooks, andwork orders.

  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency,and company directives related to building operations and work safety.

  • Follow departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposalof hazardous materials. Maintain a clean and safe workplace.

  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles andtechniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovativesolutions.

  • Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline andbroad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.

  • Perform other duties as assigned tosupport operational reliability, regulatory compliance, and client objectives.

  • Leadby example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Workto build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.

  • Impacta range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own teamand other related teams.

  • Workwithin broad guidelines and policies.

WhatYou’ll Need:

  • HighSchool Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-relatedexperience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and educationwill be considered. Universal CFC certification is preferred.Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.

  • Meetthe physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking,climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs.or more.

  • Abilityto exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.

  • Willingnessto take a new perspective on existing solutions.

  • In-depthknowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook,etc.

  • Organizationalskills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.

  • Sophisticatedmath skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages,fractions, and other financial-related calculations
