Maintenance Assistant
STARTING RATE: $17.00/hr.
SHIFT: Full-Time, 7 am - 3 pm, including every other weekend

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for the routine upkeep of all areas of a facility both inside and outside the building. These responsibilities include but are not limited to troubleshooting HVAC systems, lighting, indoor climate control, emergency cleaning and upkeep requests. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Essential duties and Responsibilities:
Perform general clean-up of all areas of the building as directed
Manage routine upkeep of exterior areas, green space and parking lot
Complete non-routine cleaning according to specified job orders
Remove rubbish and recycling daily and prepare bins for weekly pick-up
Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests
Ensure rooms are maintained and fully equipped
Troubleshoot issues with HVAC system, lighting and indoor climate control as necessary
Ensure building safety rules are implemented and maintained.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED
Valid NYS Driver's License
Ability to lift 50lbs.
Knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, and electrical wiring
General maintenance experience
The ability to safety operates hand and power tools
Excellent time management skills
Strong problem-solving skills
