Aries Engineering Co. (Hypercyl) is a diversified manufacturer of "hydra-pneumatic" Cylinders, Electro-Mechanical Actuators and Assembly Systems, which produces from 1 -- 200 tons of output force using only a plant air supply of 30-100 PSI. It is a clean, quiet, environmentally friendly alternative to conventional hydraulic systems in high-force, high-speed assembly and forming applications within the automotive, appliance, medical and electronic device, and department of defense manufacturing industries.

Aries Engineering is looking for a motivated individual to join our production team as a Machine Operator I. In this role, you play a vital part in operating machinery, ensuring quality output, and maintaining a safe and efficient manufacturing environment. Responsibilities:

  • Operates machine tools such as lathes, drill presses, milling machines, cold and band saw, or grinders according to production specification and needs.
  • Verifies conformance of machined work to specifications using measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and fixed or telescoping gauges.
  • Reads and interprets machining instructions, job orders, and blueprints to determine dimensional specifications, sequence of operations, setups, and tooling requirements.
  • Selects and sets cutting speeds, feed rates, depths of cuts, and cutting tools according to machining instructions or knowledge of metal properties.
  • Ensures safety operating procedures are adhered too throughout projects.
  • May communicate with senior management on special projects

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read a tape measure, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Ability to perform basic shop math (ex. converting decimals to fractions).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule forms such as safety rules, maintenance instructions, and others.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and available resources to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to problem solve and communicate potential issues.
  • Basic knowledge of various types and metals and their physical properties

Experience:

  • 2+ years work experience in a machining environment.
  • Handles basic issues and problems while referring more complex issues to high-level staff.
  • Possesses beginning working knowledge of lathes and milling machines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
